Good afternoon

I'm the new owner of an 1150gs. The wiring around the headstock needs re-wrapping in tape.

What's best, amalgamating tape or some normal wire harnessing tape?

Thanks

Sean

I use the genuine OEM BMW tape , can be ordered direct from Dealers

Same stuff on Ebay, called 'Scapa Wiring Loom Cloth Harness Adhesive Tape'. Similar to the original stuff on BMWs.

Stuff I've usually used from ebay has done the job nicely, at lower price - and that's from someone who tends to favour oem!

Thanks for all the responses.

I've done some digging around and it looks like the OEM BMW tape is Coroplast 837 (same spec as the Rugged Roads tape that was suggested).

It can be had for under £8 delivered on eBay so going to give that a go.

Cheers

The sheaving of my wiring loom was in tatters. I think / hope, that the actual wiring is okay. I think that's the price you pay for "environmentally friendly" insulation. I used self amalgamating tape from screwfix. It's a bit tricky because of the protective backing. I removed to old sheaving and made as much access as possible before taping up the loom as best I could. It looks okay and has survived well for two years or more.
