I wouldn't mind tagging along on this, purely as a tail ender mind.... :eek
Many thanks for your support... I'm not sure yet who's taking on what 'roles'... and I think Whatton is on his jollies in North Africa with the boys at present... I'm sure we'll be organising a dry run in the not too distant future.. so watch this space.. :thumb

Hi

I am a male rider (1200gs) who may be interested in partaking in this leg from Scar to KL, if date and availability suit.

Can you please forward details - I maybe able to assist with accomodation, etc- as Kings Lynn is my home town and have plenty of contacts.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Neil

PS If anyone is interested the Local news paper for Kings Lynn is the Lynn News and advertiser and the area daily paper is the Eastern Daily Press--let me know if you want any assistance.

I'm leading the ride but haven't seen the documents for fund raising or PR yet. There should be some sort of press release made available soon. I'm sure details will be posted in each regions thread when they're available.

Dear All

I am riding down to Kings Lynn and staying there next weekend
(also partaking in BMF at Peterborough)---Can I be of any assistance, etc, etc whilst there.

Neil

Dear All...

... I have been looking forward to this ride for quite a while now. I've been off line recently, and whilst catching up have found the "who is joyseeker" thread.

It seeems that with alarming regularity this site hosts fall outs.
I will not condone or be part of this.

So...

I am pulling out of the charity ride. A desicion not taken lightly, and with regret, as the people I have met via this forum have been sound.

I will continue to support the good works of local breast cancer charities, and hopefully still meet some of you in person in the future

Regards
Chris

It's called life Chris...

I've just received your PM so I'll remove your details as requested.

Cheers

Chris...

I am unaware of the circumstances which have created your decision (although I do believe it may have something to do with the only individual on this site who is on my ignore list) but I wish you luck wherever you may go...

Many thanks for your support for this most worthy cause during your time with us...

Sue.... :(

Chris

I;ve just read the thread and I'm sorry to hear that you've pulled out because of JS threads in the B&B.

If you wish to come back in at anytime please do get in touch with us here. I'm sure all part of this region would welcome you back on board no problem.

As Room 101 says, thanks for the time you have offered so far.

Good luck....

:)

Hi all,

I have been keeping my eyes open on this thread as I will be joing the ride in September. Should be a good ride for a good cause and a good chance to meet a few people from this site.

What about a dry run? Is anybody planning a ride, or will it just be 'go go go' in September?

Thanks.

Would like ...

... To join the posse, riding shotgun/escort if you can handle the company.

... I propose to join the run at Berwick (region 11)and follow all the way in to Kings Lynn and then to the East Midlands event if that's a) OK and b) I squeeze enuff cheese down me neck to keep going :D

Thats great that were getting more folk to come on board.... :thumb

We need to ask Cap'tn Watton how many folk we've mustered so far... :nenau

If all those participating in the run can raise at least £100 each we should be on track to raising the £10,000 overall target...

Time to start rattling those tins guys... :bounce1

And any promo for the run would be equally appreciated... if anyone has contacts with press... radio... etc.. I'm more than happy to give em some 'sound bites'... :D

Cheers... Sue.... ;)

Sue, It was good see the Griffin pics and the magazine article in First should add to all the efforts. In the background we are working with PR and events but to raise hopes when things are not done deals, is dissapointing when it doesn't happen.

As to press and radio. I helped Ela and her campaign, so here's something that you can adapt .. for BBC Lincolnshire radio (lincolnshire@bbc.co.uk) and BBC Humber radio (humber.online@bbc.co.uk)

Send an email to their local news link ...
add to it email the link of your regional pr page
http://www.ukgser.com/pinkwayaround/pr?.pdf
or make a download of this and send as a pdf file attached to an email and send to BBC local radio, then repeat for commercial stations if applicable and local news papers, as most have email addresses..

.. headline your email subject something suitable as (if my detail is not exact please correct or edit into your own style )

Yorkshire girl biker to ride in Breast Cancer Care Challenge

In September 2006, The UKGSer ‘Pink Way Around Britain’ Relay Challenge will be attempted by Yorkshire girl biker Sue Lohan and a team of riders on BMW GS bikes who will undertake a perimeter ride of approximately 3,000 miles around mainland Britain in four days to raise funds for the charity Breast Cancer Care.

The ride itself is divided into 12 regional legs where each GS girl rider with support from two GS colleagues shall ride along a pre-determined route within their region before passing on a symbolic baton (in this case, a pink bra) to her colleague who then continues the challenge until they have circumnavigated mainland Britain.

“Each GS girl rider is thrilled to be taking part in this unique relay challenge as it’s a great way of raising money plus the awareness of Breast Cancer and is seeking contributions or pledges of support from individuals as well as from the local business community”

Sue is available for interview, call her on 0???? xxxxx or email ??@xxxx.com

I am sure in this news thin summer season, and on a local level you should have some success. In the past, if one news gatherer picks up on it and uses, then the others will also run if only to show they have not missed it. If you need help pm or email me. Let me know how you get on
