Ok here goes, the confirmed dates for the 'Pink Way' Around Britain Challenge are confirmed as 5th – 8th September 2006.

Region 1 will leave Kings Lynn at 09:00 on Tuesday 5th and it is estimated that the final leg will reach the ‘finish’ on the evening of Friday the 8th

The girls that have already volunteered for the areas are as follows:-

Pink Way Region 1 Kings Lynn to QEII Bridge (Dartford) Duchess
Pink Way Region 2 QEII Bridge (Dartford) to Southampton Pumpy
Pink Way Region 3 Southampton to Lands End Jaq
Pink Way Region 4 Lands End to Severn Bridge Sharribee
Pink Way Region 5 Severn Bridge to Aberystwyth Archaeo
Pink Way Region 6 Aberystwyth to Liverpool Lucy (that’ll be me)
Pink Way Region 7 Liverpool to Carlisle Lucy (that’ll be me again)
Pink Way Region 8 Carlisle to Fort William Sillymoo
Pink Way Region 9 Fort William to Inverness Nashskye
Pink Way Region 10 Inverness to Berwick-upon-Tweed Moira
Pink Way Region 11 Berwick-upon-Tweed to Scarborough Bluebell
Pink Way Region 12 Scarborough to Kings Lynn Room 101

The regional coordinators are:-

Pink Way Region 1 Kings Lynn to QEII Bridge (Dartford) bakerlonglegs
Pink Way Region 2 QEII Bridge (Dartford) to Southampton Burfcontrol
Pink Way Region 3 Southampton to Lands End Clive
Pink Way Region 4 Lands End to Severn Bridge Devon
Pink Way Region 5 Severn Bridge to Aberystwyth slimbo
Pink Way Region 6 Aberystwyth to Liverpool timolgra
Pink Way Region 7 Liverpool to Carlisle Paul G (BHT)
Pink Way Region 8 Carlisle to Fort William Grahame
Pink Way Region 9 Fort William to Inverness G.C.
Pink Way Region 10 Inverness to Berwick-upon-Tweed Grizzly
Pink Way Region 11 Berwick-upon-Tweed to Scarborough Enabb
Pink Way Region 12 Scarborough to Kings Lynn Whatton

The ‘job’ of the regional coordinators is to plan the route for your section and liase with your neighbouring sections for both collection and hand over of the ‘baton’, and also if possible, raise as much money for BCC locally.

We need at least one National Coordinator to liase with the regional coordinators to oversee the whole challenge. If anyone of the regional coordinators wishes to take on the role of national coordinator then please let me know as you can have both a national and regional role, if required.

We need to fill the empty spaces so if any of you girls out there are thinking about it but haven’t yet stepped forward please do.

Ok, how does that sound, if anyone listed above has changed their minds please send me a PM

Just a thought... but if Clare H can't make it for any reason for Group 7.. I may be able to do this one too.. so I've done a bit of each coast..!

We'll see how things progress as I don't want to step on anyones toe's but just want you to know that I'm up for it if there's no definate takers in the near future... :nenau :bounce1

erm....yes... I know its a bit bonkers...but its all for a good cause :D

Just looking thru the list at the head of this thread.

Lady riders still needed for region 8 & 9

Co-ordinators still needed for region 7, 8 & 10

Support riders still needed for region 10, AFAIK, this I know from Laur.

Is this all still correct or does the list need updating.

I am support rider for region 9 & I am going up from Nottingham to ride the route mid May, any female riders from the midlands area that want to do region 9 route are welcome to follow.

I dont think there are that many changes to be made to the list Cookson but I'll ask to update just in case.

Not unduly worried about the riders right now... I'm sure as the better weather comes (a little sunshine) I'm confident more will sign up, but we'll keep an eye on it all the same.

(She says keeping her fingers crossed .... :mmmm )
