I have a policy that covers my insurance excess on hire cars, but does not cover motorcycles. This type of insurance is relatively low cost, circa £40 for a full year. The travel insurance offered by my bank, Visa infinite card, does cover bikes but only outside the UK! I have just hired a bike for a week long trip in Wales at the end of October (through a reputable rental company) and the insurance excess is £2,500. I wondered if anyone was aware of a similar excess cover type policy that would cover both motorcycles and UK travel?

many thanks

Chris.

Not helping the OP but looking at Swinton's Excess Insurance, you can get Motor-only at £39 for £250 excess, £49 for £500 and £59 for £750 cover.

Varying the Voluntary Excess on a car quote might work out cheaper at higher premiums; my car is only £322 with £250 XS so it isn't worth doing (at £1000 XS I would save £24), but the Swinton policy quote did not ask what I was paying.
