Hi all
Need some thoughts as to source of rumble in the transmission of R1100GS.
Recently changed siezed driveshaft after very noisy disintergration on M1 while racing a courier on F650.
This machine is off roaded and has been through rivers over cylinders.
Cannot be sure if noise is always there but gets louder as clutch is pulled in. I am able to do any work, but all that there is, is gearbox or bevel box. the latter is easy to remove, but a bit of a pig to work on. (lots of special tools). how does the bearing failure mainifest itself?
What gearbox failures have people had?
This is a high mileage machine and has 60K on 96P.
How much do BMW charge for a complete bevel box overhaul?
