Back after 32 years.....
The great depart, Friday evening....
....up the Great North Road to Doncaster, uneventful except for a coming together of vehicles and a pleasant hour wait somewhere around Peterborough.
Saturday morning, Have to attack the petrol station for a can of fizz to clear the windscreen and improvise a scraper....
Christ it's busy in these northern parts....
....and chilly....
......and foggy....
....and it gets no warmer...
A brief stop (to water border) - Note large rabbit, which was most upset...
and confirm it's still not very warm out....
.....before arriving, at the hotel...
====
Let the games begin:
HRH calls to find out where his laundry has got to:
...and, learning that it's still an hour away, turns his back on proceedings in disgust....
.....whilst Tash signs up Three Wise Men for Oonyakistan's nativity play....
.....eventually, the laundry service makes an appearance....
and the noshing can begin....
===
Next morning and it's no warmer...
....So back, via the seat of scones...
....and the 24 hour Polish car wash, beneath Fenchurch Street railway arches..... at a balmy 5.5c.....
===
Please may I extend a very big 'Thank you' to all for a good time north of the border. I'll be back, if it's OK with you.
Richard.
