I'm considering de-catting my new gsa when it arrives, before taking it to HT.

Exhaust and Can comes in around £1500, are the benefits worth the cost.?

Thanks

Without a doubt, smoother and much improved drive.

Any extra power is an additional bonus !

Don't forget to advise your insurer's. I intimated, to mine, that it was resetting fuel/air ratio to optimise correct parameters running on different octane ratings that could be found abroad.

Not a specialist yet on 1200Gs but I done this to my Harley, and remapped it, and bike ran faster more power and a hell of a lot cooler, I reckon heat dropped about 35 degrees, on the downside I got a little less mileage from the tank, and also check if it does not void your warranty, the stealers will do anything to not pay.

Decat will give an instant power gain, it does increase noise too, which shows how restrictive the cat is.
End can does very little, changes exhaust note a bit, some cans decrease power .
Second hand exhausts come up on here now and again.
I have remus decat , akro can and a remap . Happy with the results .

I order of best gain for the money;
Hilltop-£350. 114 bhp/86ft lb torque with far more flexibility and smoothness and a few mpg.
Headers (more noise) and can(lots of noise) will give you another 4 or 5 hp /2 or 3 ft lb torque. £1500 sound a lot of money, I am too tight to pay that much, keep a close eye on the ads and wait for second hand.
