I tried to remove the std system today, only from the downpipes back as I have a remus to go on
The exhaust hanger bolt is in a shocking state, can it be replaced?
I only had a quick look whilst I tried plusgas

You can replace it with a stainless, they're about £1.50 from motoworks.

One fundamental principle in engineering appears to be that any nut that is sufficiently rusted that it needs replaced is also the most strongly attached nut on the machine.
