800gs alarm module swap...?

Failed alarm module on a 2008 800.

Is it as simple as buying a new module off eBay and plugging it in?

What about coding a fob to the new unit?

Will it need coding to the ECU?

I've got a GS-911, but never seen any coding options for the arm...

I believe the alarm module and TPMS is the same. I had no TPMS on my bike so purchased a second hand module off fleabay. Just the TPMS - not the combined unit. No coding necessary for the module but I had to switch on the display to show the tyre pressures. Also had to code in the new sensors. This was all done with Motoscan with no issues. I wouls assume if you change the module for the combined there will be some coding to do - either/and/or for alarm and TPMS.
