Hi, My bike is a 13plate twin cam GSA. So pre LC.
It came fitted with the BMW nav 1V in the four button cradle.
So, the unit being over ten years old now and temperamental it’s time to change.
I’ve decided that for me the Garmin XT is the way to go.
Now, on perusing the web, all the fitting videos seem to be for the newer versions of the gs.
Has any body fitted on to an older gs? If so , how did you do it?And was it easy?
I’ve seen the 3DAM adapters, but again I can’t find if they will fit the old four button cradle.
It would be great if they did as it would save a bit of hassle.
Cheers, Paul.

The XT fits nicely into my standard locking BMW Nav cradle for the 1250 which has no buttons using the 3DAM. (The other option was to rip out the BMW mount and fit the GarminXT mount.)

I doubt the 3DAM adapter fits into the four button BMW cradle due to its width.

The XT only uses about four connectors, whereas the BMW Nav uses about twelve at a guess.

I have a nice anodised mounting bracket to fit GPS to the nav mounting bar of a Hexhead GSA (left over from my old bike), yours for £20 plus postage if you wanted it for mounting the Garmin XT mount onto your bike.
