That’s Bob Denman’s old bike.

Bob recently passed away and his widow is selling his bikes. That’s just one of them.

Both would be really happy it’s found a good home.

That’s fantastic.
I wonder if you could get a message to her at some point to ask if she had any photos of the trip that I could put up with the bike. I have a special place planned for it with a few other with interesting history.

I could ask her for you.

Are you a pannier lid short ?

Pretty sure I saw it in the garage, last time I was there.

Bob bought another petrol tank for that bike.

He just had it repainted in white and it’s mint inside and out.

Sadly he didn’t get round to fitting it.

Can get some pictures if you’re interested ?

I don’t know if it’s missing? I’m collecting it this week. I will check but if it’s still available I would like it.

Rarest g/s of all, civilian production measured in hundreds, military/police a couple of thousands only.
Well rescued👍

Collected the bike today, fantastic!
It’s not been used for a while but with a new battery it fired right up and sounds great.
I post up some photos soon.
The panniers were complete with both lids.
Lots of paperwork with it and it’s clearly been well looked after by Bob.

I had a spare Paris Dakar tank and seat, fitted it and cleaned the bike.
The front mudguard is looking a bit better now.

Just sent this picture to Bob’s widow.

She’s very happy the bike is still in the hands of an enthusiast and hopes it gives you much pleasure.

That’s great, it’s a cool bike with interesting history.
If Bobs wife could email me a couple of photos of him on the bike or at the side of it while on his trip I can print them out and display them with the bike in my shop ?
I understand if she doesn’t want to, but thought it would be nice to have some background to it.
