I have a Nav 5 and an XT. When I update them I get a Microsoft Edge file in the gpx folder in the internal memory of both sat-navs which I've never had before.
Does anybody know what's it doing there, and why do I need it?

link :nenauany good?

PS
Garmin Express
new version was 7.20.0.0 a few days ago
and...
a new version is out today 7.20.1.0
I sense another coq-au-vin...

what is the full file name including the suffix? It could be a picture with a .bmp or .jpg suffix as that is the default on your system. On my laptop, a PDF shows with the Chrome icon as that is the default program to open a PDF on *my* system. It is most likely a shortcut link to a website such as where to download Garmin Express. My Zumo 390 has had one of these from day 1.

It appears to be a .gpx viewer.
Why you would need a pc and the web to view a gpx file already in your sat nag is a mystery to me and no doubt more of Garmin's various idiosyncrasies.

There's major server issues with Garmin yesterday /today.
Failures to update, unable to get past "checking for updates" on Mac. Windows not updating maps fully and hanging.

I reported a couple of map errors to Garmin I discovered when doing routes (never got a reply to the e-mails) re the Here maps they use in 2023 and 2024 seemed to be related to the way garmin tile them. . They appear to be fixed now in NTU 2025.1 So at least errors are worth reporting.

I’ve been down that road in Ponga with the ‘disconnect’

Can be the source of all sorts of funny route choices by the GPS device if you find one. Can be sorted in Basecamp by putting in two waypoints with an "offroad" section accross the gap.
