The Germans have got quite good at making themed ‘Roads’ to cross their huge country.

Just mooching through the pages of the latest Alpentourer magazine I came across an article about the Deutsche Limes-Straße. I had never heard of it but a simple Google of the three words brought me to:

https://www.germany.travel/en/nature-outdoor-activities/german-limes-route.html

https://www.discovergermany.com/on-the-trail-of-roman-history-the-german-limes-road/

https://www-limesstrasse-de.transla...tr_sl=de&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en&_x_tr_pto=sc

It’s real Gladiator film stuff.

It appears to be designed to cater for bods in cars or riding motorcycles and / or in these enlightened ‘Green’ times, bods on bicycles too.

Clearly the bods at Alpentourer magagazine(2/2023) have made their own take on it, too:

Download the route for free from the magazine’s website:

We stopped in Passau, down on the Danube, on our lap of the outside of Germany. It was, at the time, portrayed by some on the UKGSer website as the centre for trouble and invaded by illegal immigrants. Nothing, as usual, could have been further from the truth.

I like the drone footage of Nymphenburg Palace Munchen when you hover over the symbol in Google Maps.
Makes Buck Palace look a bit Tatty
Never seen this feature before, you have to search for a place eg Berlin then you get an icon or two, hover over the icon and get a CGI drone view of the Brandenburg Gate
