Mate and I were servicing our bikes at the weekend. A 2008 & a 2012 GS
I changed my oil filter no problem and then my mate did his and there was a ten pence sized ring seal in the bucket.
Now we’re not sure if there’s meant to be an centre ring on my 2012 even though there was not one supplied with the new filter.
Looked online and Nippy Norman’s is showing the oil filter with a centre ring seal.
Is it just down to what filter you buy if the seal is required or not?
Any advice appreciated

Just done mine and pulled the filter and ring out of the garage bin. My bike is a 2010 Hexhead. Hope this helps

Are you sure this isn't the sump sealing washer?
On sites such as Nippy the oil filter is shown with a new sump plug crush washer/sealing ring?

Now that you mention it, you’re probably right it’ll be a new sump plug washer they’ve included with the oil filter
