Nav5 & tft screen

Hi guys I'm struggling to get the wonder wheel to work on the bike which has a tft screen, I have the bmw connected app on my phone which I'm beginning to think is the problem can anyone confirm?
I'm think if my phone fits in the connected cradle of going down that route, thoughts?

You have to select nav using the menu button iirc press and hold forward
