Paint problem RT

Thanks for letting me join. I picked up my new 1250RT on Saturday in the rain and didnt notice a number of small black spots all over the white of the top case lid. They are nowhere else on the bike so I am satisfied its not something that has splashed onto the bike or been thrown up from the road.
I have tried to gently polish them out with a mild compound and rubbed them with WD40 but they appear to be under the clear coat or to have stained into the clear coat.
The dealer has logged the issue and will look at it when the first service is due next month - I live some distance from them with a ferry etc so cant get back sooner.
Any thoughts what it might be or anything else I could try to remove them, now I have seen them I cant unsee them!

Take to a body repair shop on the island and get them to give you a diagnosis before you return to the dealer. Dave Death (if you're near them) might point you in a suitable direction.
