The oil light flashing (not solid) is telling me of an elec fault. It may well be the broken speedo drive! Clever these tmax’s. Even 20 odd year old ones Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’m not sure how it works on the Mk 1/2 but I’d wager it’s similar. It’s all covered in the official Yamaha manual.
