Which is best / easiest to remove - centre stand or side stand?

Take them both off and try it for a week or so. When the period is up, replace one or the other for the same period. Take careful notes of the experience, comparing it with week one, with no stands.

Then, repeat week one.

Then replace the other stand and use for a week, again taking good notes.

At the end of the month, you’ll be able to compare your notes and findings (a spreadsheet might help) sufficient to give you a thorough understanding of the matter. By all means engage any likeminds you might happen to encounter, it’ll be fascinating to see their reaction over a brew.

It beggars belief. :blast
There are folks bemoaning, that certain bikes do not come with centre stand as standard, and that they have to fork out another 200 shillings, to have it supplied and fitted.
Yet there is always one who will say, nah, I don’t need one, and toss it in the bin. :nenau

Convert it to a trike and you can then junk all the stands and use car tyres.

Buy a wall to take around with you, when you have the side stand off. It’ll be useful to lean the bike onto. Start a separate thread, as to which wall is best, as some are definitely better than others.

If you find you get on really well with the wall, then enhance it with an anchor point, so you can chain your bike to it, whilst it’s leaned over. Bingo, two jobs in one. You could even enhance it further with one of those really funny signs that says ‘BMW parking’ in the style of a US parking zone sign. Some bikermates love them and will engage you in further likeminded banter.

You can make significant weight savings and subsequently improve your MPG by only carrying a pint of petrol in your tank.

With that and the weight reduction from only having one stand you’ll soon have enough to buy some …. Erm .. pies.

Now you’re just being silly .
A much better and more realistic idea would be to buy a Bike Grab stand

and then purchase the new Kriega 80L BG rucksack which has been specifically designed to lug the stand around on your back and yet hardly notice .

That way you can remove the OE side and mainstand and make a HUGE weight saving to the bike

A pint, is that like a litre or summat? I don’t do old.

When you stop, let all the air out of the tyres and it should remain upright on flat tyres.

No need to carry a wall or any other device other than a good pump.

But the tyre will surely be only flat on the bottom? 🤔

they just put their labour rate up to £175/hr . i nearly fell over ! the car side is £250/hr .

BMW workshops have big windows so they can see the suckers coming
