You don’t have to be buggered. Marie and I did a 27 day tour around France a couple of years ago. Basically 3500 mile clockwise around the edges. Went in the car as I didn’t want to leave the bike for a week in a boatyard while we went on the canal du midi.
going by car has its advantages.

And home safe...2560 miles, brill hols, and the conclusion of both of us was it was better for us on 4 wheels than 2.
