Gmail won't go..

Hi,

Here's the sitch:

Desktop (XP) can see Gmail is plugged direct to DSL modem.

Desktop cannot see Gmail if plugged into wifi router.

Laptop (XP) cannot see GMail via wifi router.

Laptop (Vista) can see Gmail via wifi router.

I have reset and rebooted the router.

Using AVG free, up to date, on all 3 computers.

I would say it is a router problem except that the Vista laptop sees the Gmail perfick.

It would seem to be a software problem on the desktop except it works when I plug the DSL modem into the LAN connection itself, not via the router.

Any clues, please?

Propably the UPnP that the router has built in. Log into router and check settings.

Try deleting your internet cache (temporary files) on the affected computers.

It cured my Gmail logon woes.

Hi,

Thanks for the advice, tried clearing cache, reset router, no joy.

Bought a new router NETGEAR today, replaced the Sitecom one, seems to have solved the Gmail prob.

Hmm.
