Incredibly warm for the time of year, even for round here. Downside is we're in desperate need of rain, but upside is it's perfect biking weather.
Went out with the boy today, across to Nice, then up to the medieval village of Bairols, which is in a spectacular setting, perched above the vallee du Tinee. The road up is terrifying in places...
Amazing views down to the valley below which only gets more and more distant as you climb to the village, which is over 800 metres above sea level.
Looking down onto the bridge
The village itself is lovely, once you walk up to the top. These were taken by Mikey as my leg is still sore walking up and down stairs.
Right down to the river...
After all his hard work, we took the gorgeous little road across to Villars sur Var then on to Puget Thenieres for coffee..
We then continued across to Entrevaux, where we planned to head over to Brianconnet, then home, but the cols were closed. So, we headed up the D4202 to get round the lac to Castellane.
Over another Col before turning south
Still a fair bit of snow on them thar hills, so not surprising the Col de Buis was closed.
Traffic was never really a problem today either.
Mikey getting set up for an arty farty "ride by" picture.
Not too shabby, especially as I am mercifully fuzzy hahaha
I took a load of Gopro films today too with my new christmas present, but the files are feckin huge, and will take ages to upload, especially in rural France. Soon though
