right something to be aware of about the laws of this fucked up place....

which ever road vehicle is the "stronger/ more likely" to inflict greater damge is responsible for any damage or accident even if no fault of your own.

my experience: some arsehole didnt have his dog on a lead, it ran straight out into the road from his gate, i had zero chance of avoiding it, my car was damaged, im responsible for all repairs and vet bills even though the law stipulates dogs must be kept on leads just because i am the stronger party.

found out guy at work was waiting at the traffic lights in his car for about 15 secs on a long straight road, cyclist barrels into the back of him - he is responsible and he should have anticipated the movements of the cyclist.

careful on your travels - if you hit anything keep going and dont stop.

COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNTTTTTOOO

AND YES I AM PISSED OFF.

Didn't think we actually needed any more reasons to avoid Switzerland on a motorbike, but credit to the Swiss authorities, they just keep on comin' up with 'em :thumb2

ah but there are flaws in that plan, plod can still charge you with not being in control of the vehicle.

there are some wierd and wonderful stories that i wont bore you with but are unbelievable all the same

no idea - i wont say no as i will prob be wrong, i wont be surprised if there is some other law regarding that. But now i know why people have every form of insurance going

That would appear to be carte blanche for a spate of claims:

Fancy a new bike? Simply roll it down a hill at any parked vehicle larger than it?

:friday

...Im glad I'm not the only one! One evening, I was returning from work and came over a mountain road in the fresh snow (about 2" deep - Snow ploughs had not arrived yet..), and wrecked my car (written-off!)...slid it into a forest on a deserted mountain hill-side...next thing I have a fine for about 150 CHF for hitting the tree!

..Go figure :nenau
