Dick Lovett had a sell on the new Karakum GTX season jacket. Ex display, reduced to £600 on eBay. Made an offer of £400 and they accepted, much better price than £1160. All label still attached.
Jacket is made up in 3 parts:
Inner liner which you can't zip in the jacket, but you can used it as a street jacket, it's very thin.
The main jacket has 5 outside pockets of various sizes and one inner pocket.
The fabric of the jacket is thin and stretchy. Ventilation is provided in the arm, the zipper is about 10'' long and at the front of the jacket by way of 2 zippers. Zipper 1 when is cold, zipper 2 when is warm, you have a 3" mesh material which provides airflow. I can't see a problem in the hot day with air flow. Short in the front and longer at the back, where you have an additional pocket.
The jacket is very comfortable, due to the stretchy fabric. The jacket is size 50 which is a 40/42 UK size, fitt for me is perfect. A bit long in arms. You can't put the sleeve over the gloves. It's tight around the wrist.
The over jacket is Goretex with a hood in the collar, you put the hood on your head (it's thin) and the helmet on, hence you have a nice barrier from the elements.
Its a shame there is no mash liner in the Goretex jacket. The jacket is 3/4 length so you have a good coverage of the main jacket and the reflective panels work well.
Tested the jacket yesterday, weather was dry and 12C. Under the main jacket I had a Zerofit and the liner. I was nice and warm.
Will update latter in the year.
