Will I Be Able To Wild Camp?

You must ride very enthusiastically :D my fuel light usually comes on around 170-180 when touring and the average last year for 2500 miles through France was 52mpg.

Interesting figures!

Bear in mind though with commuting to work and back the consumption is going to rise, though I wouldn't have thought by such a degree - and yes, I do ride enthusiastically!

Me thinks I need to start slowing down with my daily riding. :thumb

Ask Steptoe how many miles he got out of ONE tankful when he was cruising along through southern Morocco escorting the Honda C90s on their way to the Gambia :thumb2

So, I unpack the pannier frames this evening , exc cond , lots of bracketry, fasteners and errr... where's the destructions that the listing said came with them? :blast

I got in touch with the seller PDQ as time isn't on my side now and fortunately he got back to me equally PDQ admitting he was a numpty and had them in his hand!! :blast:blast :D

He said he would mail them over to me tomorrow but I haven't got until tomorrow and so persevered.

Brilliant , they fit and look fine , albeit they are the one side wider than the other variety. Can't complain, they were cheap, exc cond and needed FAST!

With a little bit of modding here and there I now have one set of home developed pannier cases on the bike with just a few more mods to go to enable them to be locked securely.
Then all I need to do is fill 'em before the off! :JB :thumb2

Can't wait for the ride report. I have done some wild camping around Europe before, including half way up Stelvio Pass. There is something very satisfying about wild camping. Have a great trip, and post lots of pics.

It's going to be a long wait Keith! Right now I should be around Saint Jean-en-Royans , but I'm not. No, I'm typing this from my sofa contemplating whether or not to go back in to work since the trip had to be called off at 12hrs notice.

So, this week I'm doing my best impression of being very pissed off!

Bugger - I was looking forward to reading about the trip as the waypoints you mentioned tally with my own for later this year. Did you call it off altogether or just postpone?
